Can dogs eat nutmeg?
No, toxic No. Nutmeg contains myristicin. A trace in baking is unlikely to harm, but larger amounts can cause disorientation and seizures.
Why
Nutmeg contains myristicin, which in dogs can cause hallucinations, a fast heart rate, high blood pressure, tummy pain and, in large amounts, seizures. AKC says it takes a large amount to cause problems and the small amount in a bite of baking may have little or no effect, but advises keeping dogs away from nutmeg altogether. Effects can last up to 48 hours.

If your dog has eaten something toxic
Call your vet or the nearest emergency vet now. Do not wait for signs, and do not make your dog sick unless a vet tells you to. Take the packet with you.
