Puppy timeline, week by week
Put in your puppy's birthday and every milestone of the first two years lands on a real date: vaccinations and worming for your country, puppy school, meeting other dogs, the socialisation window, teething, the desexing talk and when they stop growing.
This is general guidance, your vet sets the actual schedule. Your vet sets the actual vaccination and worming dates, and knows the disease risk where you live. Every line on this page links to the guideline or charity it came from.
What it answers
- When can my puppy go to puppy school?
- When can my puppy meet other dogs?
- When does the socialisation window close?
- When will my puppy sleep through the night?
- When will my puppy lose their baby teeth?
- When should we talk about desexing?
- When will my puppy stop growing?
Vaccinations and worming come from the same country schedules as the vaccination and worming pages, so the dates here never disagree with them. Where the sources disagree with each other, both positions are shown with their dates.
How we worked this out
Nothing here is new advice. Each line is quoted from the research behind Puplr's other pages: AVSAB and AAHA on socialisation and puppy school, the AVA and WSAVA on when the vaccination course protects, VCA, Blue Cross and Humane World for Animals on nights, USDA Animal Care and VCA on teeth, AAHA on desexing timing, and the AKC, VCA and PetMD on when growth stops. A question with no sourced answer is left out rather than filled in, which is why "when can my puppy be left alone" is not here yet.
Dates are worked out in your browser from the birthday you type, the same way on any phone and in any time zone. Nothing is sent anywhere. The link you share carries the birthday and name after the # sign, which never reaches a server.
