Medical disclaimer

The schedules, calculators and breed information on Puplr are general in nature and are compiled from published veterinary guidelines and kennel club sources. They are typical starting points. Your vet will change them based on your puppy's history, the vaccines and products available where you live, local disease pressure, and your puppy's own health.

Do not delay a vet visit, and do not stop or change a treatment your vet has prescribed, because of something you read here. If your puppy is unwell, contact a vet. Lethargy, refusing food, repeated vomiting, diarrhoea, a swollen or painful abdomen, laboured breathing, seizures, collapse, or suspected poisoning are emergencies. Call your vet or an emergency clinic immediately rather than reading a website.

Accuracy and currency

Veterinary guidelines are revised. Vaccine products, licensing and legal requirements differ by country, state, province and council, and change over time. Rabies vaccination requirements in the United States are set by state law and in Canada by provincial and municipal law, and Puplr does not track every jurisdiction. Every effort is made to source facts from primary organisations and to date the pages, but Puplr makes no guarantee that the information is current or complete at the moment you read it. Where sources disagree, the site says so.

Dosing and products

Puplr never recommends a dose. Worming and parasite products are dosed by weight, are not all licensed for young puppies, and some are dangerous to certain breeds. The product label and your vet decide the dose and the product, always.

Advertising disclosure

Puplr carries no display advertising. There are no ad units, no ad network script and no advertising cookies anywhere on the site. The site is paid for by the affiliate links described below and by nothing else.

Amazon links go straight to the Amazon store for the country you pick in the header, with no redirect in between: amazon.com.au for Australia and New Zealand, amazon.com for the United States, amazon.co.uk for the United Kingdom and amazon.ca for Canada. Most are search results, so you compare rather than take one pick. In the United States Puplr never sends a flea, tick or worming search to Amazon; those go to pet retailers that sell them.

Puplr participates in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. Two partner rows are paid offers through the MaxBounty affiliate network: JustAnswer, a paid service for asking a vet online, on the vaccination and worming pages, and Petlibro automatic feeders, on the feeding pages for visitors in the United States and the United Kingdom. Their links pass through a MaxBounty tracking address before reaching the merchant. Neither replaces your own vet.

Links to Pet Circle, Petbarn, Chewy, Petco, PetSmart, Pets at Home and PetSmart Canada are plain search links today and earn Puplr nothing. If one of those stores accepts Puplr into its affiliate program, its links become affiliate links under this disclosure and this page will name it.

Products in the kit boxes are listed because a new puppy needs that category of item, not because of commission rates. Puplr does not quote prices or claim stock availability, because both change constantly. Check the price, the size and the reviews on the retailer's own page before you buy anything.
